Millennium Rooftops

This beautiful Limited Edition 'impressionist' Giclée Fine Art print shows the view of Gateshead Millennium Bridge, taken from the North end of Tyne Bridge, looking out over the rooftops of Newcastle upon tyne’s Quayside area.

In 1996 Gateshead Council launched a competition to find a bridge that would link developments on both sides of the River Tyne and also complement the existing six bridges crossing the river.

Gateshead residents voted for their favourite design from a shortlist of leading architectural companies.

The brief was to create a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists that:

  • Allowed ships to pass underneath;
  • Did not overshadow the world famous view of the existing bridges;
  • Didn't obstruct the Quayside.

Did you know?... The bridge cleans up its own litter - anything dropped on the deck automatically rolls into special traps at each end of the bridge each time it opens.

This Fine Art masterpiece is the ideal gift for yourself, or a loved one.

The artwork is strictly limited to a run of 25, assuring you of rare wall-art wherever it is displayed.

It is numbered and signed by the photographer and is accompanied by an embossed, signed letter of authenticity, with the limited-edition sequence number of the piece, along with a copy of the artwork.

I print on beautiful Fotospeed Smooth Cotton Fine Art paper, using Fotospeed archival inks. I can supply it as a signed print on its own (image itself measures 16"x12" and is printed with an added ‘signature border’ of 1/2 “). Alternatively, I can supply it double-mounted in white, then black with a white frame, which is ready to hang in your favourite room. The overall size, including the frame is 17" x 21".
